Traveling Hwy. 101 North (from Los
Angeles)
Take the last Santa Barbara exit - State St. / Hwy. 154.
Drive straight through stoplight (State St.). Continue to 2nd stoplight
and turn right (Hwy. 154/San Marcos Pass). Drive approximately 7
miles into the mountains. PASS Painted Cave Rd. and turn RIGHT on
E. Camino Cielo. (This is at the top of the mountain -
if you start going downhill, turn around!) ...see below.
Traveling Hwy. 101 South (from San Francisco)
Just south of Los Alamos, exit on Hwy. 154 toward
Los Olivos. Drive approximately 25 miles, passing Lake Cachuma.
After Stagecoach Rd. get into the left lane and as you crest the
hill, be prepared for a quick left turn onto E. Camino Cielo.
(This is at the top of the mountain - if you start going downhill,
turn around!) ...see below.
From Santa Barbara Airport
From car rental area, turn right onto Sandspit Rd. and follow until
it merges with Hwy 217. Follow Hwy. 217 until it merges with Hwy.
101 South. Take the first Santa Barbara exit - State St.
/ Hwy. 154, and get into the left lane. Turn left, and
turn left again at the next light (going toward Hwy. 154/San Marcos
Pass). Drive approximately 7 miles into the mountains. PASS Painted
Cave Rd. and turn RIGHT on E. Camino Cielo. (This
is at the top of the mountain - if you start going downhill, turn
around!) ...see below.
... E. Camino Cielo
Travel approximately 2 miles (driving time - 5 minutes) up this winding road. Turn right at
Painted Cave Rd. (Though not well-marked, this
is the first road off of E. Camino Cielo.) Laurel Springs is the
first ranch on your right, at 2720 Painted Cave Rd.
